Sheridan, WY

The intruder that was shot and killed during a home invasion early Sunday morning at a residence on the 200 block of West 10th Street in Sheridan has been identified as 39-year-old Terry Tate Twomey of Sheridan.
According to a news release from the Sheridan Police Department, the occupants of the residence, an adult male and female, and two children, were unharmed and are completely cooperating with the police investigation. Police are attempting to determine any relationships between the deceased and the residents, or between the deceased and the house. It’s been determined that the intruder entered the residence through an unlocked door. The incident is isolated and there is no threat to the community.
The female resident, who made the 911 call, told dispatch that an unknown male intruder was in their home without permission. She reported that her boyfriend armed himself with a shotgun after his attempts to get the intruder to leave the home failed. Twomey was shot in the chest by the male resident of the home after refusing to leave the residence peacefully. He was transported to Sheridan Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
